Amazon has started rolling out the Fire OS version 4.6.1 update for the Fire Phone, which brings some key changes to the device. The company hasn’t mentioned if this is based on Lollipop, but the mention of lockscreen notifications seems to suggest so.
The update also comes with support for Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, which can be used with headsets and compatible wearables to save battery on the smartphone. Another major update to the Fire OS introduces emojis on the stock keyboard, which is a welcome addition. Of course, the update also comes with a bunch of bug fixes and stability improvements.

- Additional keyboard options: Amazon’s keyboard now includes color emoji. Choose from hundreds of emoji characters to make your e-mail and multimedia messages fun and personal. - Convert video clips into lenticular images and set HDR to auto: Record video clips and automatically convert them into a lenticular image to share with others or use on the lock screen. - Choose different colors for calendar events: If you have multiple e-mail accounts synced with your phone, you can assign a color for each account.
