After announcing the Desire Eye and RE camera in an event earlier this month, HTC has launched the devices in India. Also launched in the country is the One M8 Eye, which is essentially a One M8 with a 13 MP camera sensor.
Since the One M8 Eye is the same handset as the One M8, we'll focus our attention on the Desire Eye, which features a 13 MP camera with dual LED flash at the back as well as the front. Also included is a 5.2-inch full-HD screen, Snapdragon 801 CPU, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, microSD slot, front stereo BoomSound speakers, LTE connectivity, Wi-FI ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 2,400 mAh battery.
The RE camera was also launched, with availability in the country limited to Snapdeal. The handheld accessory will be available for Rs. 9,990 ($150), while the One M8 Eye is set to retail for Rs. 38,990 ($650). The One M8 Eye will be limited to China and India.
There is no information as to how much the Desire Eye will cost, with HTC stating that the device will be exclusive to Amazon India. The devices are set to go on sale in a week's time. HTC is also bolstering its offerings in the entry-level and mid-tier segments with the launch of the 64-bit Desire 820, as well as the Desire 820q and Desire 516c in the country.
What do you think of HTC's new offerings? Anyone interested in the Desire Eye?
