Another day, and another acquisition by Google. This one is a company called Odysee that specializes in allowing Android and iOS users to back up their photos and videos to their own computer. On top of that, it also allows for private, automatic sharing to chosen people.

There is already an app available for both Android and iOS, but it will be shutdown on February 23. The Odysee development team will join Google+ to “continue to focus on building amazing products that people love.”

If you happen to already use the app, you will be able to download an archive of your photos and videos soon after the stop date. If you’re looking to try the service until then to see what it’s all about, you’re out of luck since the app has already been pulled from both Google Play and Apple’s App Store. I am sure you could find an APK to install though.
