Starting today, the Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 are now being sold in Taiwan. Both of these devices feature the new unibody casing, offering a different design aesthetic to the familiar flagship we all know, and possess the 64-bit SoC, a system chip that we don’t normally see on a mid-range priced smartphone.
The A3 is the cheaper sibling of the A5, offering watered-down specifications from its big brother. It features a qHD (quarter-HD) 960x540p 4.5-inch screen, 8GB of storage capacity and 1GB of RAM. The camera in the back uses a 8-megapixel sensor, in contrast to the 5-megapixel one up front.
The A5 features a 720p HD 5-inch display, on the other hand. This device carries 16GB of storage space plus 2GB of RAM. The rear-camera is sporting a 13-megapixel shooter, while the front uses 5-megapixels.
Both handsets will be using the 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410. This processor is a 64-bit CPU.
The A3 will cost you $287 (TWD) and the A5 will be ringing up $380 (TWD) at the register.
