HTC’s latest upcoming budget-friendly, mid-range smartphone, the A12, is expected to be announced next month at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, but we don’t have to wait that long for a full list of its specifications and its purported launch date thanks to renowned leaker, Upleaks.
The A12 is rumored to feature a 4.7-inch 720p display, a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processing unit clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB) and a 2,100mAh non-removable battery.
In terms of software, the handset will leave the factory running the latest version of Android 4.4.4 KitKat skinned with HTC’s Sense 6.0 user interface, but is expected to be upgradable to Lollipop upon receipt. All the user will have to do is pop in their SIM, turn on the device, connect to a Wi-Fi network then hit the update button.
The HTC A12 is reportedly set to launch in the United States in February with all four major carriers on-board.
