Back in July 2013, Google launched its first media streaming dongle, the Chromecast, in the United States and ever since residents in India have been itching to get their hands on the device, but, unfortunately for them, there wasn’t any word regarding an Asian release.
Up until now, that is.
Earlier today, Rajan Anandan, Head of Google India, announced that the Chromecast will be available from the online retailer Snapdeal starting tomorrow, December 10, for ₹2,999 (roughly £31/$48). The HDMI streaming stick will also be available in a few Airtel bricks-and-mortar stores dotted around India.
Google has teamed up with a selection of India’s most popular media streaming services, such as Eros Now, YuppTV and Spuul to make this release possible — so if you decide to pick up a unit, you won’t be short of content to Cast.
