Intex Launches the Aqua Star II in India For Rs. 5,999

It was just a couple of days ago that we ran a story covering the launch of the Aqua Star L, Intex’s first handset running Android 5.0 Lollipop. Today, the Indian-based manufacturer has launched the Aqua Star II, a very similar specced handset running Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

As you can see from the spec sheet above, the Aqua Star II is not a flagship device by any means. But that’s ok, it’s priced reasonably at Rs. 5,999 ($96) and is aimed at the lower end of the market. A Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.2GHz provides the muscle, with 1 GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. MicroSD card support is included, so you can add up to 32GB of additional storage. The 5-inch IPS display has an 840 x 480 resolution, and a 2,000mAh battery is also present.
The Aqua Star II’s main claim to fame is the ability to take selfie pics by tapping on the screen or by pressing the volume button. The primary camera (rear) is an 8MP affair, with AutoFocus and flash, while the front-facer is 5MP. As is common with smartphones launched in India, the Aqua Star II supports Dual-SIMs and supports the following network bands – GSM 900 / 1800 and WCDMA 2100MHz.
The Intex Aqua Star II is available to purchase in 4 colours – White,  Black, Blue and Grey for Rs. 5,999 through Intex’s network of retail outlets.
